He graduated from Berkeley with Honors and attended medical school at the USC Keck School of Medicine. After medical school, he completed a five-year residency at the University of Michigan, where he specialized in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. At Michigan, he spent five years training under one of world’s most renowned facial plastic surgeons, Dr. Shan Baker. Subsequently, he completed one of the busiest and most diverse Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowships in the nation. During his fellowship, Dr. Marcus performed over 950 surgical cases in facial plastic surgery; he was also on staff in the Plastic Surgery Department at the University of New Mexico. During his tenure at the University, Dr. Marcus took a keen interest in teaching residents surgical techniques and patient management skills. This propensity to teach and to learn has kept Dr. Marcus on the forefront of modern medicine.
More recently, Dr. Marcus has received an award for passing his facial plastic surgery boards in the 99th percentile (2nd in the nation) and won the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery's prestigious John Orlando Roe Award for his groundbreaking research. Dr. Marcus is an active member of the Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and he feels that treating the complete patient is the most important aspect of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. His consultations address all patient concerns as well as different aspects of one's health…not just the surgical options and treatment plans. Dr. Marcus feels that personal relationships lead to an invaluable partnership and rapport which is coveted by both himself and his staff. Dr. Marcus currently has a private practice (Marcus Facial Plastic Surgery) in Redondo Beach, California. The practice is located in a suite adjacent to an upscale spa called Aesthetic Edge. The office is a confidential, safe and comfortable setting where you will always feel like a welcome part of the family.
